OUR MISSION

MISSION OF THE CROSS-BORDER AGENCY FOR THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE BASQUE EUROCITY BAYONNE SAINT SEBASTIEN

The Cross-border agency for the developement of the Basque EuroCity Bayonne – San Sebastián is the collaborative structure founded by the Diputación Foral de Guipuzcoa and the Communauté d’agglomération de Bayonne – Anglet – Biarritz, formerly District B.A.B. Created in February 1997, the agency's structure is a European economic interest group located in Saint Sebastian initially called « Observatoire transfrontalier Bayonne –Saint Sébastien ». The evolution and diversity of the cross-border projects encouraged the structure to adopt a new name : «agency for the development » which more aptly describes our mission. In 2001 the Consorcio Bidasoa-Txingudi joined the agency.

The agency's mission is to organize cross-border co-operation on the Eurocity Bayonne San Sebastián territory.

The agency is involved in various sectors, from Urban planning (Eurocity Whitepages, market studies), to various themes which touch the lives of the inhabitants of the Eurocity, like Sports. The Agency is also involved in partner networking and initiating projects while playing a role of Observor.
